Choose best smartphones

Choose best smart phones

You know that this is a very interesting question. There are thousands of smart phones available in the market. How to choose one which suits your budget and handy features. End of this article you will get some idea to choose a smart phone

smartphones

Smart phone features

Smart phone is a ‘smart’ phone! There are many smart phone features can be listed (As of 2012 ). Few of them are

1) Internet Connectivity

2) High Resolution Touch-screen

3) Advanced Computing Ability

4) Camera

5) Third Party Application Support ( Application Store )

6) Multimedia Support

7) Better Battery Life

8) Security

9) Nice design and Look

10) Operating System and easy upgrade options

I know that some of you think GPS is smart phone feature or not. That is a catch. No body can define what are the best features of a smart phone. It’s all based on your perception. What you see and what you use and what you want.

Media Hype

Too much media hype in every areas so does in Smart phone market too. Marketing agencies are very smart and intelligent and they know how to attract people and rip their money. Lot many people are obsessed with Smart Phone companies ads, reviews, youtube reviews, CNET reviews etc. Sure that you need to watch and read a lot of reviews, talks, ads, blogs etc. But think twice before you act.

Also I know many people are buying smart phone for just status purpose. We need to update with latest technology doesn’t mean that need to buy latest phone every year. So ‘you’ decide what you want and don’t let others.

Assume you are planning to buy/upgrade a smart phone. Listed few rule of thumps

1. Patience

Reason :- Wait, wait, wait……wait. How long should I wait.  Go to 2) and 3)

2. Try to wait till near holiday/festival season. Why ?

Most of the companies launch their best products to aim holiday shoppers. So you can expect a refined product.

3. If possible try to wait for second or third version products. Why ?

After the mass launch only the product gets the exact review. So most of the huge defects or design flaws will be fixed in subsequent release.

4. Reviews

Read a tons of reviews. Read articles, blogs, websites etc. Also if possible try to see it from your colleague/friend/relative/shops etc.

5. Get the real feel

I know this is tough. But if you have any friends, relatives, colleagues try to feel it from them. Always there will be some difference (some times a lot !) what you see in product ad and what you get in your hand.

6. Match all your features you would like to have

Try to list your features possibly in a paper or notepad. Verify it twice before you buy. Assume you need a smart phone with high-resolution camera and if the phone doesn’t have it, then try some other smart phone with high-resolution camera.

7. Cost

Obviously it should fit in your budget. Never ever go for a highly expensive phone which you cannot afford. It is a true fact that 80% of people do not use all features of the phone. So list all your most wanted features, wanted features, ok-to-have features etc and prioritize and choose.

8. Network Carrier

This is also very important. Some countries there may be few network carries who offer your intended phone. So no choice means you are forced to stay with them. If you have many carriers then you need to analyse many factors like talk time minutes, data plan, bandwidth, support, warranty, coverage etc.

9. International Support

This is applicable only if you are a frequent traveller and intended to use in different countries. In that case your phone must be compatible to use in those countries too. Better buy an unlocked phone.
